“Star Trek was an attempt to say that humanity will reach maturity and wisdom on the day that it begins not just to tolerate, but take a special delight in differences in ideas and differences in life forms. […] If we cannot learn to actually enjoy those small differences, to take a positive delight in those small differences between our own kind, here on this planet, then we do not deserve to go out into space and meet the diversity that is almost certainly out there.”

So then, instead of writing, I started watching Teen Wolf.

From the beginning.

Because I needed more time wasters in my life.

For some reason, in my head, Katheryn Winnick and Natalie Dormer look like sisters. Idek, because they don’t really look that much alike?

Still, it would be neat to see them cast together ever.

I really want to try making falafel. It doesn’t seem too hard, and I miss the deliciousness of a falafel and pita sandwich from NYC.

Cat is perturbed by my cuddles. Because he’s a weirdo.

So many of the ladies on Game of Thrones have such lovely long hair. I am jealous. Why did I cut my hair off? Whyy??

I can’t remember whether I liked Melisandre in the books or not.

But I find myself kinda liking her in the show.

So far……

Catching up on Game of Thrones again.

Still want all the Tyrion/Sansa AUs. (/grabby hands) Gimme gimme gimme.

Aha! Mystery solved. I didn’t hear it, so I guess that’s my excuse to see the movie again. c:

Just saw Star Trek Into Darkness; still sitting in the theater, actually, watching the credits.

Can someone tell me: Winona and George Kirk/Jennifer Morrison and Chris Hemsworth are in the credits. So… where were they in the movie? I must have missed that?

Her Face as Pale as Milk: desliz: cumaeansibyl: barbrastreisandvision: coco chanel was a nazii...

desliz:

cumaeansibyl:

barbrastreisandvision:

coco chanel was a nazi

i say this with no hyperbole whatsoever

she literally worked for the nazis and benefitted from jewish shareholders in chanel being sent off to concentration camps when their share came into her possession.

parisian consumers actually refused to buy a lot from her own ranges after 1940 because she was an infamous collaborator but british and american consumers kept on buying them and continue to glorify her

that’s nice

reminder that this is not even remotely disputed (and historians love to dispute things)

this is established historical fact, not rumors, she worked for a goddamn spymaster

you might say “well, is it fair to judge a company on its founder, I mean, look at Henry Ford, he was the worst” and we could have a discussion about that

but if Coco Chanel had been tried and convicted of espionage like she should have been, I’m fairly certain Chanel would not exist today. a house can survive its founder’s death, but not her execution

she wasn’t because she knew a lot of Nazi sympathizers high up in government and society and they were afraid of her naming names, so that’s how Chanel can continue banking on their glamorous founder’s image

Chanel should not exist and you can’t buy things from companies that don’t exist

important fact that gets omitted from this discussion: Pierre Wertheimer, the Jewish businessman who was the majority partner in Parfums Chanel  and who was the major target of Chanel’s hatred (she tried unsuccessfully to assume sole control of the business), returned to France after the war and resumed his role. After Chanel’s death, Pierre’s son, Jacques, took controlling interest in the brand, and currently, his two sons, Alain and Gerard, are the owners of Chanel. It’s important to remember that yes, Chanel was a Nazi, but how can you not mention how amazing it is that her company and brand is now owned and run by the same Jewish family she was literally hoping to have exterminated? That is some epic revenge.

Well, hey, you learn something new every day. And this all is pretty interesting.
